Spotlight of the month

The practice of Sergio Fermariello focuses on a repeated sign, which the artist uses to cover his canvases with. This fixation leads Fermariello to define himself as a “writer of a single word”, the single word being a sign based on the shorthand signifier of the warrior. Fermariello received his first major award for his work in Milan in 1989, the international Saatchi & Saatchi prize for young artists.
